Student Leadership
Action:
To help students develop a comprehensive understanding of the connection between the Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) component of our school story and the curricular competencies, targeted actions have been implemented. Grade 6/7 student leaders have been actively engaging in reflective practices, analyzing their various roles and responsibilities within the school community. These reflections are purposefully aligned with the SOAR acronym, allowing students to explore and strengthen their connection to the school’s core values while deepening their learning experiences. This approach fosters leadership, critical thinking, and personal growth, ensuring alignment with both SEL objectives and curricular goals.

Applying Thinking Skills: Examples include self-monitoring, reflecting, and goal setting.
Exchanging Ideas and Perspectives to build shared understanding: Demonstrated through collaborative conversations, taking turns, and respecting others' contributions.
Student Leadership Reflections
- Every term, our student leaders reflect on their assigned leadership roles, sharing evidence of how these experiences have shaped their personal growth and contributed to the school community.
- Their reflective posts also emphasize the First Peoples Principles of Learning, particularly the belief that "learning supports the well-being of self, family, and community."
- These reflections are proudly displayed on the bulletin boards, serving as a source of inspiration and a celebration of their contributions to our collective growth and well-being.
