Dear McKinney Elementary School Community,

As we gear up for the new school year at James McKinney Elementary, we're excited to welcome back our students and families to the vibrant McKinney community. We hope this message finds you well and ready for another year of growth and learning!

School Starts on September 5th:
The first day of school is right around the corner—September 5th! We're looking forward to having all our McKinney Eagles back.

Important Schedule Details:
For students in Grades 1 to 7, the first day is a partial day, with a homeroom session from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. It's a chance to reconnect, share stories, and set the tone for the rest of the year. Full days will begin on September 6th.

Start with Last Year's Divisions:
For the first week, all students should return to the divisions they were in last year. This is a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with old friends and ease back into the school routine. We anticipate moving into this year's divisions by Friday, September 8th. 

New Students:
To our new faces at McKinney Elementary, we extend a warm welcome! Please head to the school office upon your arrival. We've arranged a special orientation for you in our library, where you'll be greeted by our friendly staff. Afterwards, you'll be shown to your homerooms, making your transition into McKinney smooth and enjoyable.

Parents of New Students:
Parents of new students, be on the lookout for an email detailing where your child can be dropped off and picked up during the remainder of the week. We're here to make sure your new McKinney Eagle feels right at home.

Kindergarten Students:
To our new Kindergarten students and families, please note that you should not attend the Grade 1-7 homeroom session on the first day. Your gradual entry schedules have been sent out, and we kindly ask you to follow those plans. If you have any questions, please contact us at the school. We are happy to help.

Parents of Kindergarten Students:
On September 5th, while your little ones are getting settled into their classes, our Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) will be hosting a "Meet and Greet" just for you. Look out for more details coming your way soon.

Important Absence Information:
If you won't be returning to McKinney Elementary this year, please let us know as soon as possible. We have a waitlist of eager students hoping to join our community, and your timely communication will help us make space for them.

Returning Later than September 5th:
If you'll be returning to school later than September 5th and you haven't already informed us, please reach out without delay. We value your presence and want to ensure a smooth start for everyone.
