Greetings McKinney Families,

We hope this update finds you well. As we embrace the spirit of giving and community, our weekly update brings you exciting initiatives and important information. This week, we highlight our PAC Donation Drive, Food Bank Donations, a new communication tool, a delicious fundraiser, a reminder about the Lost and Found, and important dates to mark on your calendar.

PAC Donation Drive

James McKinney PAC is a registered charity and is able to give tax receipts for donations!

This year the PAC is raising funds to replace the old playground which is approaching the end of its useful life.

One of the ways we raise funds is through an annual donation drive which will direct 100% of your donation to new playground equipment. A benefit is that you can request a tax receipt for the 2023 year and we accept corporate donations! This year, we are able to accept donations by e-transfers, cash, or cheque. 

• E-transfers: Send to mckinneypac@gmail.com and must include your full name, child’s name, and phone number in the message/comment section for the transfer.
• Cheques and cash will be accepted in sealed envelopes at the office. Please make cheques out to James McKinney PAC. If you require a tax receipt, you must fill out the form below with the donor’s full name, postal address, and email address and then return to the school office. This information is required before we can issue tax receipts. If you have any questions, please contact McKinney PAC at: mckinneypac@gmail.com. Food Bank Donations

As we come together to uplift and support families in our Richmond community, we warmly invite those who are able to contribute non-perishable food items, such as cans, pasta, and toiletries, to our Food Bank Donation Drive. Your generosity will make a significant difference in the lives of those who need it most.

For added convenience, you may also consider making a cash donation through our school's online KEV account. Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to creating a stronger and more caring community.

We will be collecting donations until December 15th.

School Messenger SMS/Text Messaging – Parent Communication 

The Richmond School District is implementing a new communication tool that will enable both the district and your child's school to send you text messages.

This is being implemented to improve the ability to deliver time-sensitive information to you, including emergency notifications. Given the significance of this communication tool, we strongly encourage you to opt-in for this service.  You can choose to opt-in by texting 978338 with a Yes.

Please complete this action before November 30, 2023.  To opt-in, please send a text message with a Y or YES to 978338   Once you have opted-in, you should receive a confirmation text message from School Messenger. School Messenger is fully compliant with the Student Privacy Pledge, ensuring the safety and confidentiality of your information. Your data will never be shared or sold to any third party.

The McKinney PAC is excited to bring you a fundraiser with Neufeld Farms!

Stock up on easy meals, meats, pies, cookies and so much more for the upcoming winter season and holidays.

Order pick-up is at the McKinney parking lot on Monday, December 4th at 4 pm.

All fundraising profits raised will directly support the PAC's goal of purchasing new playground equipment for the school.

Lost and Found Table

We have a lot of Lost and Found items at the front of the school office. Please be sure to have your child check the front table in case they have misplaced any clothing items. Please take some time and look through the items as we will donate the unclaimed items to Value Village.
