McKinney Family Update - September 15
We end the second week of the school year with immense gratitude for your support. Our heartfelt thanks go out to all families who joined us for the first PAC Meeting and stood by us at the Terry Fox Run. Your presence and enthusiasm were truly appreciated, and we look forward to many more memorable moments together.
Here are some important updates:
Meet the Staff Evening: Join us on Thursday, September 21st, at 5:30 p.m. in the gym for a slice of pizza. At 6:00 p.m., we'll introduce our dedicated staff, followed by two opportunities to visit classrooms at 6:05 p.m. and 6:20 p.m. The event ends at 6:35 p.m.
Welcome Mr. Dengler: We're excited to welcome Mr. Dengler as our Grade 6/7 teacher (Division 3).
Medical Alert Update: If your child has allergies or medical conditions, please return the provided medical form. Contact the school office if you haven't received one.
Visitor Information: All visitors must check in at the office and and sign-in. Families should make appointments to meet with staff members.
Extended Absences: Although extended absences are not encouraged, if a student needs to take an extended absence, it should be no longer than 20 school days. If you have questions please contact the office
Weather Preparedness: Ensure your child comes to school with appropriate clothing for outdoor recess and lunch. Consider leaving a spare set of clothes at school.
PAC Lunches: Starting on September 21, 2023, our Hot Lunch Program begins. Visit the MunchALunch website for ordering details. Note that we have no other lunch service provider this year.
No School: There will be NO SCHOOL on Friday, September 22nd, due to staff professional learning.
Updated Bell Schedule:
- First School Bell rings at 8:40 a.m.
- School Hours: 8:45 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.
- Learning starts at 8:45 a.m.
- recess from 10:10 – 10:25 a.m.
- lunch from 11:50 – 12:45 p.m.
- Dismissal is at 2:45 p.m.
- Please ensure your child(ren) arrives on time
